Urban Hunt registration is CLOSED!!!
The 2022 - 2023 Urban Hunt season begins Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022.
***Changes for 2022/23***
- REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE EARLIER THIS YEAR. REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE ON JULY 11th BEFORE THE FIRST ORENTATION. WALK-UP AT THE ORENTATION WILL BE ALLOWED AT AN ADDITIONAL $5 CHARGE.
- Registration Fee of $15 (A fee of $15 will be collected at the time of registration. This will be deducted from the $50 orientation fee)
- The amount paid at the orientation will be $35 for preregistered hunters and $55 for those that did not preregister
- Additional feature added to allow others to register others as their guest. Just use their email address during the registration to link to their membership
***Due to the Covid-19 guidelines there will be some changes to the way the orientation is managed. We will have to follow the guidelines of social distancing that may require us to make last minute changes to the normal process. These will be published before the first orientation date.***
What do I need to do be part of the Urban Hunt?
There are a few things you must do before you can participate in the Urban Hunt.
• Register for the Urban Hunt. {Cost is $50, (which is $15 registration fee + $35 Orientation fee) or $55 for those that did not preregister}

• Take the Bowhunter Education Class online {The current cost is $30} ***If you take the course online, you still have to attend an Urban Hunt Orientation in order to get the Field Day portion*** IBEP Online Education
• Register to attend an Urban Hunt Field Day. IBEP Field Day
• Attend an Urban Hunt Orientation. You only have to attend one orientation. It will get you what you need for all the Urban Hunts; no matter how many different cities you hunt. ***You must get your tags from each city you plan to hunt***
• Pass a shooting proficiency test. You will be required to show your skills at the orientation. You will have to shoot 3 arrows in the kill zone.
• You must meet the minimum age requirement of each city that you plan to hunt and have a valid AGFC Sportsman hunting license.

ONCE YOU FAIL TO QUALIFY WITH A WEPON, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUALIFY WITH ADDITIONAL WEAPONS!!! ***YOU WILL HAVE TO HAVE 3 ARROWS TO SHOOT!!!***

All urban deer hunts will open Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 and close Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023.
***Fairfield Bay will open Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 and close Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023***

How's The Harvest?
IBEP Education Classes
You will need to take the online class and also need to attend one of the field day classes held at the one of the orientations. If you have attended one of the classes in the past and have already received your Bow Hunter Ed card, you will not need to attend a class again.
***The registration for this class does not get you registered for the Urban Hunt. You will still need to register & pay for the Urban Hunt in order to participate.***

ORIENTATION NOTES
All persons attending the orientations should be at the location by 7:30 a.m. the morning of the orientation. A briefing will begin at 8:00 a.m., there we will explain the rules and regulations for the city in which you are hunting. After the briefing, proficiency testing will begin along with registration and permit issue. If you have taken the IBEP Class on-line you will need to bring a copy of your completion certificate from the course before attending the field day portion of the class. Why do we need these Urban Deer hunts?
Research has shown that the deer population is growing all over the country, not just in Arkansas. The deer that were once considered cute little creatures are now growing in numbers and becoming a menace to the urban home owner. These once cute and cuddly creatures are tearing up gardens, spreading disease, and causing millions of traffic accidents every year. To help with this growing concern the Arkansas Game and Fish has joined forces with the Arkansas Bowhunters Association to help control the growing population. Together they have agreed on a set of rules that will make this a safe and ethical means for controlling the growing population.
